Private Lessons

Want to train your dog but don’t have a schedule that allows for classes? Smart Dog Training provides private individualized instruction in basic obedience including sit, down, stand, come, and walking politely on a leash. Smart Dog Training is also pleased to provide in-home consultations to prepare you and your house for your new puppy's arrival.

Behavioural Consultations

Smart Dog Training will come to your home conduct an interview and provide an in-depth written report on problem behaviours including separation anxiety, aggression, housetraining, digging and barking. You will receive a comprehensive report that gives analysis of the problem, management strategies and a behaviour modification plan to remedy the problem.

Consultations regarding aggression are $95 for the first visit with package rates available. Please note that aggression issues require three visit packages (or the option of the growly class for dogs reactive with other dogs). 

Board-and-Train

Send your dog to charm school! Does your dog growl at you when you approach his food or toys? Is your dog rude, jumpy and biting for attention? These and other problem behaviours require the time and consistency that Smart Dog Training can provide. Feel confident knowing that your dog will learn fantastic impulse control in a positive pain-free training environment. Clients are welcome to visit their dog while in training and are given a written report of methods used.

Private lessons require 24 hour cancellation notice.

Burnside Location:
Located in the gymnasium behind St. Joseph the Worker Church, 757 West Burnside Road. Enter through the rear door of the gym. To access the gym, turn from Burnside Road into the parking lot in front of the church. Look for a driveway to the left of the church (marked by our sandwich board sign), and follow it around the church to the parking lot at the rear of the gym.  Enter the gym via the stairs. Remember: follow the sandwich board signs and you can't go wrong!
